Product Marketing Manager
Job Description
The Product Marketing Manager leads the commercialization and market-facing efforts for APT Manufacturing Solutions, shaping product positioning, documentation, and pricing across distribution channels. Acting as the liaison between Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, this role owns market readiness and the successful execution of product marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Articulate and refresh value propositions for every product across all distribution channels.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to craft and polish product copy for websites, catalogs, ads, and sales materials.
- Translate engineering technical documentation into accessible, customer-facing messaging.
- Maintain consistent product positioning across all marketing platforms.
- Partner with designers and software engineers to produce core materials, while owning product documentation such as data sheets, catalog content, website product pages, and distributor portal content.
- Confirm product information is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with current specifications.
- Oversee revision history and version control for materials used in commercial communications.
- Coordinate pricing strategy with leadership and the sales organization.
- Support price updates and communicate changes to distribution channels along with updated documentation.
- Collaborate with design to ensure correct product categorization and placement on the website.
- Ensure consistent product categorization and placement in printed catalogs.
- Maintain proper categorization and placement within distributor portals.
- Keep categorization and placement accurate in channel-specific marketing materials.
- Work with Distribution Sales Managers to position products appropriately within each channel.
- Tailor messaging and collateral to align with each channel strategy.
- Act as the marketing liaison to distribution partners for product needs.
- Partner with design, engineering, and curriculum teams to develop and deliver distributor training materials.
- Develop training materials for internal sales teams in collaboration with design, engineering, and curriculum specialists.
- Prepare launch kits and training presentations for new products.
- Support distributor education on product features, benefits, and differentiation.
- Collaborate with Engineering during development to define a commercialization strategy.
- Own marketing deliverables from engineering handoff through market launch.
- Coordinate with the creative and multimedia teams to develop launch materials.
- Ensure launch materials are complete, accurate, and accessible to distribution channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in product marketing, product management, or related marketing roles in manufacturing or distribution environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting distributor or channel-based sales models is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical writing and copy-editing ability.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear customer-facing messaging.
- Experience managing multiple product lines concurrently.
- Highly organized with excellent cross-functional communication skills.
