Job Description

Based onsite in Des Moines, IA, this role supports The Weitz Company has the Industrial business unit in drafting proposals, marketing materials, and presentations, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, plan, and execute marketing campaigns and initiatives in collaboration with the Business Development, Marketing, and project teams
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to draft pursuit proposals, qualification statements, and project narratives
  • Review requests for proposals (RFP) requirements and provide writing, design, and research support; determine needed materials, narratives, graphics, and charts for technical and price proposals
  • Lead proposal development meetings to discuss status and challenges, review outstanding items, and suggest opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain current project sheets, personnel resumes and headshots, and local project photography; coordinate with the corporate marketing team to update in shared files and on the website
  • Act as a brand standards champion by supporting jobsite branding and marketing materials
  • Ensure the CRM is current; update project and pursuit information as needed
  • Create original content for social media; identify opportunities to promote the company with stakeholder approval; propose campaigns that support business development efforts
  • Assist with local public relations and communications activity such as crafting blog posts, press releases, and media responses, with approval from Business Development and/or Marketing management
  • Collaborate with business unit leadership to plan and attend internal and external events (client and subcontractor gatherings, award banquets, association panels)
  • Maintain local office marketing activities including booth materials, promotional items, award submissions, advertisements, mailings, and meeting reports
  • Adhere to established marketing processes, systems, and templates; identify opportunities to enhance and support implementation
  • Ensure internal and external marketing material design and messaging reflect brand standards and marketing strategy

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and/or communications
  • Experience with a construction or architectural company is a plus
  • Degree in marketing or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Self starter with a strong work ethic
  • Creative and collaborative, with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple deadlines
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Desire to produce high-quality work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is required
  • Experience with Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design programs is a plus
  • Ability to learn job-related software upon hire
