Marketing & Events Manager
Job Description
Sound Industrial Alliance, a Seattle-based organization focused on strengthening the region's industrial community, is looking for a Marketing & Events Manager to steer its marketing, communications, and event programming. This role blends strategic storytelling with brand stewardship and live and virtual events to deepen stakeholder engagement and raise SIA’s profile across Seattle’s industrial sectors. The position operates in a hybrid setup based in Seattle, WA 98134.
Responsibilities
- Raise SIA’s visibility and stakeholder engagement through targeted communications, marketing initiatives, and event programming aligned with strategic goals.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that advances SIA’s mission and broadens presence within Seattle’s industrial landscape.
- Ensure consistent application of the SIA brand across all internal and external communications, presentations, marketing collateral, digital channels, and organizational materials.
- Plan and oversee industry tours, networking events, and other activities that support the alliance’s strategic objectives.
- Strengthen the organization’s digital footprint by improving the website, producing engaging content, and maintaining a cohesive online brand experience.
- Create and distribute regular communications, including the quarterly newsletter, event announcements, member updates, and other stakeholder notices.
- Produce presentations, one-pagers, event assets, promotional content, and other visual communications that clearly convey SIA’s work and impact.
- Develop and manage a social media strategy and content calendar to broaden reach and promote SIA programs, events, and advocacy.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry publications to expand earned media coverage and awareness of SIA initiatives.
- Track, analyze, and report on marketing, communications, social media, website, and event performance to measure success.
- Support additional organizational priorities and special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, event management, or a related area.
- Strong written, editing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Experience in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, maintaining brand consistency, and increasing organizational visibility.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute events, meetings, tours, networking functions, or stakeholder engagement activities.
- Skill in cultivating media relationships and securing earned media opportunities through strategic outreach and storytelling.
- Solid project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, social platforms, and content management systems; experience with graphic design, email marketing, Squarespace, or similar tools is preferred.
- Experience tracking and analyzing metrics across communications, marketing, digital channels, and events.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with team members, vendors, media partners, and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable with a track record of taking ownership from concept to completion in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Interest in economic development, industrial and maritime industries, public policy, or nonprofit work, and a commitment to SIA’s mission and values.
