Job Description

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a Marketing/Communications Specialist to join the Enrollment Management Communications and Marketing (EMCOMM) team onsite in Norman. This role centers on email and website communications for prospective and admitted students, their parents, and school counselors across OU campuses, collaborating with campus partners to design, implement, and refine targeted messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple email communication assignments.
  • Use the email builder to design effective templates, create hero images, and write copy.
  • Send emails for review and manage updates.
  • Schedule emails in the division's CRM (Slate) for intended audiences to ensure successful delivery.
  • Build, review, and deliver SMS communications.
  • Construct queries using filters and exports within Slate to send targeted email and SMS messages to specific populations.
  • Collaborate with division partners, campus programs, and academic colleges to create and deliver email and SMS communications.
  • Assist campus partners with tour and event registration and communication, including reviewing forms and promoting events via email and SMS.
  • Assist the email communications team with reviews and feedback.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of email campaigns.
  • Assist with web edits, updates, and redesigns of webpages in Adobe Experience Manager and Evoq for sites under the Division of Enrollment Management, ensuring a positive user experience aligned with brand and accessibility guidelines.
  • Monitor progress of assigned projects and meet deadlines.
  • Follow WCAG 2.1 AA digital accessibility guidelines when creating and reviewing digital communications.
  • Perform various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field; or 48 months of related experience in lieu of the degree.
