Job Description

San Bernardino County offers an onsite opportunity in the Economic Development Department for an Economic Development Coordinator II who specializes in graphic design and marketing. Earn an hourly wage of 40 to 54 dollars while contributing to branding, outreach, data analysis, and cross‑department collaboration that fuels regional growth. This role focuses on developing marketing materials, coordinating projects, and using data to support economic development initiatives with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate productive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Coordinate and implement economic development projects
  • Provide technical assistance and resources to teams
  • Assist with marketing strategies and develop visually compelling materials
  • Conduct studies and research to inform decisions
  • Analyze legislation and offer recommendations
  • Monitor contracts and ensure compliance
  • Represent the County at various functions
  • Develop marketing materials, presentations, graphics, and digital content to support initiatives and outreach
  • Utilize graphic design, AI tools, and creative software to produce visuals and communications content
  • Research and interpret economic, demographic, market, and industry data to support projects
  • Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and briefing materials for leadership and diverse audiences
  • Use GIS and mapping tools to analyze spatial data and support site selection
  • Support branding, marketing, social media, website content, and public outreach campaigns
  • Coordinate meetings, events, workshops, and special projects with internal departments, partners, and community organizations
  • Maintain project files, databases, digital assets, and related tracking systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in public or business administration, economic development, finance, marketing, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field
  • Three years of full-time equivalent professional experience in economic or business development, real estate/commercial development, marketing, public relations, or graphic design
  • A master’s degree in a qualifying area may substitute for one year of the required experience
  • Travel throughout the County is required; a valid California Class C Driver License is required; mileage reimbursement is available at IRS rates
  • A clean driving record and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained
  • Pre-employment background process includes fingerprinting, with potential credit check, medical exam, and may include drug or TB testing
  • Sponsorship: The County cannot sponsor visas; candidates must have legal right to work in the United States

Conditions of Employment

  • Promotion: Employees may be eligible for promotion to Economic Development Coordinator III after meeting qualifications and receiving a satisfactory progress report, with a specified salary range
