Job Description

This role will own digital search growth across three behavioral healthcare brands, with a primary focus on end-to-end SEO, AI-driven visibility (GEO), local presence, content operations, measurement, and ongoing WordPress management.

Role Overview

As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will drive performance for organic search and AI answer surfaces, manage visibility in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and similar platforms, and coordinate day-to-day site operations across all three brands. You will also oversee local SEO execution for LA and Dallas, including business profile management, review workflows within HIPAA constraints, and consistent directory citations across key healthcare platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own SEO for all three brands, end to end, including execution, measurement, and performance reporting.
  • Build and run a program focused on visibility in AI answer surfaces (including monthly citation tracking).
  • Manage Google Business Profiles for LA locations (Malibu, Palisades, West LA) and Dallas locations, including review generation and review response workflows within HIPAA constraints.
  • Maintain citation consistency across healthcare directories including SAMHSA, Psychology Today, and Rehab.com.
  • Run a clinician-bylined content pipeline: plan topics against the keyword map, coordinate medical review, publish, and interlink content.
  • Establish and conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly monitoring routines, conversion tracking, and provide a monthly performance report to ownership based on a defined set of KPIs (per brand and consolidated).
  • Handle day-to-day WordPress upkeep for all three sites, coordinating with developers when template-level changes are needed.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of SEO experience with real ownership of outcomes rather than task-only execution; in-house experience preferred, agency experience acceptable if you can demonstrate you ran accounts.
  • Background in healthcare or another regulated YMYL vertical (legal, finance), with an understanding of higher standards for health content.
  • Working fluency with Google Search Console, WordPress, Rank Math (or Yoast with willingness to switch), and Semrush or Ahrefs.
  • Working knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, HIPAA constraints on marketing, including review responses, testimonials, and tracking technologies.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI search. GEO expertise is not required, but engagement with where discovery is heading is required.
  • A builder mindset: preference for owning systems rather than receiving tickets, and ability to communicate progress via trend lines.
  • Comfort context-switching across three brands (parents of teens, adults seeking recovery, telehealth patients) and two geographies (LA and Texas).

Technologies & Platforms

  • Google Search Console, WordPress, Rank Math, Yoast
  • Semrush, Ahrefs
  • ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity
  • SAMHSA, Psychology Today, Rehab.com

Locations Served

  • Los Angeles: adolescent behavioral health provider with residential programs in Malibu and Pacific Palisades and an outpatient center in West LA (PHP / IOP / EC), serving ages 12–17.
  • Dallas: Dallas-area addiction treatment provider with physical locations serving adults.
  • Texas-wide: telehealth psychiatry practice.

What Success Looks Like

  • 90 days: technical and plugin configuration work completed across all three sites, keyword-to-URL maps built, money pages optimized, monitoring routines running, and conversion tracking live across each brand.
  • 6 months: measurable growth in non-branded organic clicks and local pack positions for priority terms, content cluster program publishing consistently across all three brands, and established review velocity.
  • 12 months: demonstrable improvement vs. the agency era across organic, local, and AI answer surfaces, supported by clean data and a documented system a future teammate could join.

Nice to Have

  • Behavioral health, addiction treatment, or telehealth marketing experience
  • Familiarity with LegitScript certification
  • Basic HTML/CSS and comfort reading schema markup
  • Experience setting up conversion and call tracking (CallRail or CallTrackingMetrics)
  • Experience managing multi-brand or multi-location SEO portfolios

Non-Fit Criteria

Detailed playbooks around link building practices, review generation, and content sourcing will be discussed. Approaches that include purchased links, incentivized reviews, doorway pages, or mass-produced city pages are not a fit.

Compensation, Type, and Work Location

  • Type: Full-time
  • Compensation: $110,000–$120,000 base (depending on experience), plus benefits
  • Work Location: Remote (US). Los Angeles or Dallas hybrid preferred.

Benefits

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance

Hiring Process

  • 30-minute screening call
  • Paid two-hour working session: read-only access to one site's Search Console and a short findings memo (compensated at $100/hour)
  • Final interview with ownership
