Job Description

The Director of Marketing will lead SpaceManager Closets’ growth strategy as the business expands across new markets. This onsite role in Houston owns qualified lead generation and booked design appointments, coordinating paid media, content, SEO and AI visibility, HubSpot automation, and non-digital channels, with monthly reporting to the owner.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end lead generation for the company, taking prospects from first click through to a booked design consultation.
Lead paid media performance across Google and Meta, working with agency partners on clear cost-per-appointment and cost-per-sale targets, and progressively bringing more execution in-house over time.
Run the content engine using the They Ask, You Answer approach by answering homeowner questions before they contact the business.
Direct an in-house videographer and a freelance writer to ensure marketing assets perform online and reflect the in-showroom experience.
Grow SEO and visibility in AI answer engines, including ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
Build email, newsletter, and automation journeys in HubSpot.
Develop non-digital acquisition channels, including referral partnerships with designers, realtors, and builders, community and showroom events, and direct mail.
Market to builder and developer customers, which represent about 20% of the business.
Report honest results to the owner every month and plan marketing for new cities.

Required Qualifications

8+ years in marketing, including 3+ years owning pipeline or leading a team.
Proven performance marketing a high-consideration product or service, ideally in-home, home improvement, remodeling, or builder and trade channels.
Hands-on experience with HubSpot (or comparable CRM), Google Ads, Meta Ads, and Google Analytics; able to review accounts and identify when agency performance is stalling.
Strong inbound and content marketing skills, with an eye for effective photography and videography.
An operator mindset suited to an owner-led business of about 37 people, with the ability to roll up sleeves rather than only manage vendors.
A genuine visual appreciation for design, spaces, and craftsmanship.
Available to work onsite in Houston.
