Job Description

This part-time, independent contractor role supports ICEF Public Schools by elevating the district’s brand and storytelling across social media, the website, and monthly newsletters. The engagement is onsite in Los Angeles, CA, compensated at USD 50 per hour, with a maximum of 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day posting and community engagement on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence across all four platforms with content tailored to each channel’s audience and format
  • Cross-post and repurpose material between platforms as appropriate, such as sharing Instagram content to Facebook
  • Develop and maintain a monthly editorial calendar reflecting school events, initiatives, and key moments across seven campuses
  • Stay current with platform trends and best practices to keep content fresh and engaging
  • Capture and produce video and photography content ranging from short-form social clips to longer narrative pieces
  • Operate DSLR or mirrorless cameras, external microphones, and standard production gear for video and photography
  • Perform professional camera work beyond smartphone capabilities
  • Apply strong storytelling instincts for short-form documentary content, including conducting or facilitating on-camera interviews with students, staff, families, and community members
  • Shoot photography for social media, the ICEF website, newsletters, and other organizational needs
  • Edit video for multiple formats and destinations (Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube, website, newsletters), formatting content to fit various specs
  • Produce video for non-social purposes such as presentations, events, and special projects
  • Ensure all video and photo assets are polished, on-brand, and properly formatted
  • Manage paid social campaigns and boosted posts on Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook)
  • Leverage Meta Business Suite to manage campaigns and performance analytics
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to define campaign objectives, target audiences, and budgets
  • Monitor ad performance and adjust strategy based on results
  • Include paid social metrics in monthly reporting
  • Create graphics for social posts, stories, event promotions, newsletters, and internal communications
  • Lead a broad range of graphic design projects across the organization, including flyers, printed materials, presentation decks, and other design needs
  • Support visual asset requests across the organization, not limited to social media
  • Maintain visual consistency with ICEF brand standards
  • Build and manage an editorial calendar aligned with the three pillars: Academics, Arts, and Athletics
  • Track performance insights across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Deliver a monthly analytics report featuring key metrics, trends, and recommendations

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing social media across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, including content planning, posting, and community engagement
  • Hands-on proficiency with Meta Business Suite, including paid campaigns and performance tracking
  • Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools for social, print, and organizational needs
  • Experience building and managing content calendars
  • Ability to analyze analytics across platforms and translate data into clear monthly reports
  • Self-directed work style with strong time management and initiative
  • Effective communication and a collaborative attitude
  • A portfolio demonstrating video storytelling (especially interview-driven work), graphics, and social content is required with the application
  • Spanish language skills are a plus

  • TB clearance and background check clearance provided by ICEF

Availability

While the engagement is part-time, the role requires reasonable availability during standard business hours for communication, coordination, and occasional urgent tasks. Some evenings and weekends may be needed for on-site events, with advance notice provided.
