Job Description
The Weichert Marketing team seeks a dedicated Marketing and Communications Specialist to support its Franchise Company (WREA). This onsite role in Morris Plains, NJ, drives the planning and execution of marketing and communications initiatives across traditional marketing, public relations, social media, events support, and internal communications from WREA to franchisees and the public, with the goal of raising awareness and supporting franchise offices nationwide. The position offers a salary range of USD 75,000 to 80,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Assist with local and national public relations to boost the visibility of the franchise network, including writing and distributing press releases for local franchise offices and for the franchise company at the national level.
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand brand visibility and franchisee participation, which may involve outreach to franchisees or media contacts.
- Support earned media efforts such as article writing, arranging interviews, preparing press materials, and coordinating webinars.
- Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of all earned media activities.
- Manage the social media content calendar in alignment with the agency calendar, stay current with posting trends, and develop strategies with the Director of Marketing that meet management objectives.
- Create and publish content to social pages to inform, engage, and attract potential franchise prospects, using graphics, video, GIFs, or other trending media.
- Monitor social conversations and respond when appropriate; develop tactics to grow followers and extend reach.
- Draft internal communications from WREA to Franchisees to announce program changes, marketing and supplier updates, and news stories via newsletters, email blasts, and social posts.
- Assist in creating and updating marketing tools and resources for Franchisees to prospect, sell real estate, and recruit agents, including brochures, flyers, direct mail, social content, resource guides, and presentations using design tools such as Adobe, Canva, and the Weichert platform.
- Provide general support to the Director of Marketing for broader programs, including the National Marketing Fund, Approved Suppliers, and events.
- Oversee small projects as needed, often coordinating cross-functional teams or managing external vendors, freelancers, or agency partners.
- Ensure communications comply with business and legal guidelines for ethical practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Five (5) years of marketing, corporate communications and/or public relations experience
- Three (3) or more years of corporate social media experience
- Previous media relations experience preferred
- Design experience preferred
- Franchise experience or experience servicing multiple brand stores nationwide is a plus
- Understanding of social media platforms and content creation for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Design Suite
- Basic understanding of AI to assist in executing duties
- Strong judgment, tact, and diplomacy for interacting with Franchisee customers, media contacts, and external partners
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, bringing energy to the position
- Creative thinker with a forward-looking mindset to enhance responsibilities and franchise offerings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and overall tech savviness to use internal digital platforms and tools
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
