Marketing & Business Development Coordinator
Job Description
Carlton Fields is hiring a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator for a hybrid role based in New Jersey, supporting firmwide marketing, awards and rankings, surveys, and business development efforts. The position emphasizes producing legal directory and awards content, maintaining the firm experience database, and developing marketing collateral for internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and refine submissions to legal directories, rankings, and awards (including Chambers, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and industry or client awards) by translating case and matter information into organized, publication-ready copy.
- Coordinate directory, ranking, and awards submissions by identifying opportunities, developing submission calendars, and gathering required information.
- Collect, maintain, and track case and matter data, survey responses, and other experience metrics used for rankings, awards, and directory submissions.
- Partner with the awards team to support timely, accurate, and strategic submissions aligned with firm priorities.
- Update, maintain, and organize business development content and collateral using the firm’s experience management software and central filing system.
- Enter, validate, and regularly audit matter, case, and deal information in the firm’s experience database to support accuracy, consistency, and usability for pitches, proposals, and rankings.
- Generate reports and experience lists from the database to support proposals, RFPs, directory submissions, attorney bios, and targeted client development materials.
- Support the business development team by assembling and tracking proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and pitches.
- Draft marketing content, including firm materials, practice or industry summaries, and client-facing collateral.
- Support communications by posting awards, rankings, and firm accolades to the firm’s website and social media channels.
- Draft attorney bio narratives, including lateral and internal updates.
- Collect information from attorneys as needed to prepare accurate, well-written drafts for submissions, bios, and pitch materials.
- Track proposals, awards submissions, and outcomes in the firm’s central tracking system and prepare periodic reports on results and trends.
- Handle additional day-to-day Marketing and Business Development Department responsibilities as needed, both firmwide and locally.
Requirements
- College degree; a concentration in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or Business is preferred.
- 2-3 years of related experience, ideally with ongoing writing and editing (for example, journalism, communications, content marketing, or legal marketing).
- Law firm experience is a plus but not required.

Education & Experience
