Job Description
The Marketing and Communications Manager role in Lansing, Michigan (hybrid) offers a salary range of USD 56,000 to 78,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree with at least three years of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans for MAASE programs, services, events, membership growth, consulting, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead go-to-market planning for new and existing offerings, including audience targeting, messaging strategies, timeline management, and promotional tactics.
- Collaborate with staff, consultants, committees, and external partners to ensure marketing aligns with organizational priorities.
- Maintain an organization-wide marketing and communications calendar to coordinate efforts across programs.
- Monitor campaign performance and recommend data-driven improvements.
- Write, edit, and produce content for newsletters, email campaigns, websites, social channels, presentations, publications, and promotional materials.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all programs and platforms.
- Create or oversee logos, graphics, one-pagers, brochures, prospectuses, slide decks, event materials, and other branded assets.
- Collect and share impact stories, testimonials, outcomes, and examples that illustrate MAASE’s value.
- Coordinate with printers, designers, photographers, videographers, and other vendors as needed.
- Create and update web pages and landing pages for programs, events, membership, consulting services, and initiatives (Novi and AMS platforms).
- Manage newsletters, email campaigns, audience lists, and engagement analytics.
- Plan and schedule social media content across organizational channels in collaboration with the Events and Community Engagement Manager.
- Analyze website, email, and social data to improve content and engagement.
- Develop promotional materials for conferences, professional learning programs, consulting services, and other offerings.
- Coordinate pre-event, onsite, and post-event communications with the Events and Community Engagement Manager.
- Support the design and content of event platforms, registration pages, speaker and exhibitor materials, and participant communications.
- Drive campaigns to recruit, engage, retain, and renew members.
- Support sponsorships, partnerships, and non-dues revenue marketing efforts.
- Craft marketing tools that clearly convey MAASE’s consulting services, expertise, and value proposition.
- Develop service descriptions, capability statements, presentations, case studies, landing pages, and outreach programs.
- Support lead generation and follow-up by producing organized marketing materials and streamlined communications processes.
- Collaborate with leadership and consultants to package and promote new offerings.
- Create and maintain templates, workflows, standard operating procedures, content calendars, and digital asset libraries.
- Oversee multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder coordination using Asana and other tools.
- Maintain orderly files and documentation for recurring marketing and communications tasks.
- Apply artificial intelligence and automation tools responsibly to improve efficiency and quality.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, events, and related organizational activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of marketing and communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, business, graphic design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of three years in marketing, communications, public relations, digital engagement, or a related discipline.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content development capabilities.
- Experience creating marketing materials for websites, email campaigns, social media, publications, and presentations.
- Experience with website content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management.
- Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design tools.
- Robust project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a mostly remote setting.
- Willingness to travel within Michigan occasionally and provide on-site support for designated events.

Work Schedule
- Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch
- Flexibility is often available while maintaining an eight-hour workday
- Flexibility around meetings, travel, events, and scheduling as needed
