Job Description

Yuzu Health seeks a founding marketing hire to build and lead the marketing function, focusing on events, campaigns, and brand voice to educate customers about health insurance while collaborating with sales and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and execute strategic events such as industry summits, broker gatherings, and regional launches.
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns for health system plans at local and regional levels.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent brand voice across channels, including thought leadership, events, and partner co-marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with sales, partnerships, and health system teams to align marketing with pipeline goals.
  • Own the content calendar, email programs, and social media presence.

Requirements

  • Curiosity about potential customers, including those not yet aware of Yuzu Health.
  • Demonstrates care for the team and mission.
  • Knowledge of health insurance and/or a demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
  • Curiosity about the product, operations, and engineering.
  • Strong written communication and creative instincts.
  • Proven ability to manage events, campaigns, and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Comfort working in a lean startup environment as a solo contributor.

The Opportunity

Marketing at Yuzu centers on building knowledge and relationships within the high-trust health insurance landscape. The role will establish pillars in both areas by educating customers on our bare-metal capabilities, such as real-time claims data and direct contracting options, while fostering in-person connections through valuable events.

The First 30 Days

  • Get embedded across the company and learn what differentiates Yuzu.
  • Audit the current marketing motion, content, conference presence, and event strategy.
  • Evaluate how Yuzu shows up across events, blogs, LinkedIn, and co-branded customer materials.
  • Develop an initial point of view on Yuzu’s voice and audience segmentation.

The First 60 Days

  • Define the core marketing strategy and recommend where the function should head.
  • Establish Yuzu’s voice and messaging framework.
  • Build an initial events plan for fall health system summit, spring broker summit, and conference presence.
  • Recommend a plan for content production, including ownership and cadence for blogs and LinkedIn.
  • Outline how co-branded marketing with customers should work.

90 Days and Beyond

  • Launch the first repeatable marketing programs for events, content, and audience outreach.
  • Establish a content production cadence across blogs, speaking engagements, and panel appearances.
  • Own Yuzu’s presence at 2–4 major conferences per year.
  • Support 1–2 regionally targeted campaigns, including stakeholder events such as happy hours and dinners, and develop supporting branded materials.

Interview Process

  • Initial Recruiter Interview: 30 minutes
  • Hiring Manager interview: 45 minutes
  • Take home assignment: approximately 2 hours
  • Onsite: 2 hours

Salary & Equity

The role offers a salary range of 140,000 to 180,000 USD per year, plus bonus, early equity, and full benefits.

Location

Onsite at the West Village office in New York, with a requirement to be in the office five days per week.
