Job Description

Hood River Post Acute offers a competitive annual salary range of $65,000 to $85,000, onsite in Hood River, Oregon, along with essential benefits. Compensation and location: $65,000 - $85,000 per year in Hood River, OR (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current contact information for resident care staff; plan, develop, implement, evaluate, and direct marketing and public relations programs to grow census and keep the community informed about the facility, its programs, services, and practices.
  • Develop and update written policies for the release of information about residents, staff, and the facility in compliance with privacy rules and regulations.
  • Support department directors in marketing and PR policy development, fostering cross-department collaboration to highlight each staff member's role in marketing efforts.
  • Review and update marketing and PR policies and procedures on an annual basis.
  • Assist in creating, implementing, and tracking customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Explain information release policies to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and descriptive public information materials describing the facility and its services.
  • Ensure staff adherence to information release policies.
  • Coordinate internal communications through bulletin boards, newsletters, meetings, and informational packets.
  • Schedule and participate in departmental meetings related to marketing and public relations programs and activities.
  • Provide creative support for activity and social services departments in developing resident programs and publications.
  • Maintain regular liaison with families, residents, and community leaders; engage with civic groups to support charitable activities on behalf of the facility.
  • Interface with news media when new programs or promotions are launched that benefit the facility and the community.
  • Keep the Administrator informed about media coverage that could impact the facility or relevant regulations.
  • During emergencies, establish a public relations area to ensure accurate information release within policy guidelines.
  • Assist in planning, conducting, and scheduling in-service training related to marketing and public relations programs.
  • Foster an atmosphere of warmth and calm throughout the facility, supporting resident well-being.
  • Follow ergonomics and safety guidelines to prevent work-related injuries.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental operating budget for Administrator approval and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Participate on facility committees as directed by the Administrator.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and report any unauthorized disclosure.
  • Interpret resident rights to residents, families, and staff as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, or 5 years of marketing/public relations experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of the degree.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in marketing or public relations within a healthcare or skilled nursing facility environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business materials, write reports and procedures, and effectively present information to managers and staff.
  • Ability to apply quantitative concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle varied, nonstandardized scenarios; interpret diverse instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products (certified or demonstrated competence).
