Community Liaison - Account Manager/Business Development/Marketing/Outreach
Job Description
The Community Liaison position is an onsite role based in Devils Lake, ND, with responsibilities spanning Minnesota and North Dakota. The role focuses on generating demand for inpatient psychiatric services, managing a defined territory and accounts, and executing the facility’s strategic sales plan across Bemidji, Fergus Falls, Fargo, Detroit Lakes, and Alexandria.
Responsibilities
- Apply Sales Excellence and Service Recovery standards in daily practice and engagements.
- Serve as the bridge between the facility and referral sources, executing service-oriented action plans and conducting facility tours for key stakeholders while acting as a community resource.
- Participate in Business Development team meetings and deliver marketing updates, reports, and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development in a timely manner.
- Keep comprehensive documentation for top accounts, contacts, planning reports, client profiles, and competitive profiles, updating as required by leadership.
- Foster positive relationships with current referral sources and identify opportunities to expand the referral network.
- Optimize field time to achieve a daily average of 8 to 10 in-person contacts with referral sources, discussing facility programs, treatment philosophies, outcomes, and satisfaction data.
- Develop and tailor sales messaging for each program and target audience.
- Craft and communicate a strategic sales plan for existing and prospective referral sources within the assigned territory, incorporating relevant research findings to identify key contacts.
- Plan and execute sales activities approved by leadership to maximize market penetration and identify potential accounts in targeted market segments.
- Monitor referral inquiries and admissions statistics daily, analyzing weekly sales actions for effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends in the target markets and adjust weekly plans accordingly, contributing input to overall business development strategy.
- Ensure timely and effective communication, collaborating with the facility, referral sources, patients, families, and the community to support positive outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date records in MedSeries 4, MIDAS, and MEDIK, including daily contacts and current account information, and utilize proprietary reports to guide sales activity.
- Complete all required reports and information requests promptly, including expense reports, sales call plans, and post-call follow-ups.
- Participate in off-hours sales and community activities as needed by leadership and facility requirements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field is required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
- Experience: Background in marketing and/ or sales within a behavioral health setting is preferred. A minimum of three years in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships is desirable.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license is required.
