Community Liaison - Account Manager/Business Development/Marketing/Outreach
Job Description
This on-site Community Liaison role supports Horizon Health's development of inpatient psychiatric services across the Minnesota Territory. Based in Detroit Lakes, MN, the position covers Bemidji, Fergus Falls, Fargo (ND), Detroit Lakes, and Alexandria (MN) and collaborates closely with the Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities
- Apply and uphold Sales Excellence practices and service recovery standards in daily activities.
- Serve as the primary conduit between the facility and referral sources, executing service-focused action plans aligned with referral source needs.
- Act as a community resource and representative for the facility.
- Provide facility tours to key stakeholders.
- Participate in Business Development team meetings and deliver marketing reports, updates, and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development in a timely manner.
- Keep current documentation for top accounts, key contacts, planning reports, client profiles, competitive profiles, and updates as directed.
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with current referral sources and identify potential new sources.
- Optimize field time to achieve 8-10 daily in-person contacts with referral sources, covering facility programs, treatment philosophies, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction data.
- Develop and convey tailored sales messaging for each program and audience.
- Identify opportunities and craft strategic sales plans for current and prospective referral sources within the territory and target markets.
- Incorporate relevant research to identify appropriate contacts.
- Assess, develop and execute sales activities (as approved) to maximize market penetration within assigned accounts and identify potential new accounts in target segments.
- Monitor referral inquiries and admissions statistics on a daily basis.
- Conduct ongoing analysis to ensure weekly sales action plans are appropriate and effective.
- Maintain current industry awareness and anticipate changes or trends in the target market.
- Use insights to develop and adjust weekly sales action plans and contribute recommendations to overall business development strategy.
- Foster timely and accurate communication across stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration and apply problem-solving to establish and sustain relationships among the facility, referral sources, patients, families, and the community.
- Maintain current data in MedSeries 4, MIDAS, and MEDIK, including daily contacts and accurate account information, and demonstrate proficiency with proprietary reports to plan sales activity.
- Complete required reports and information requests timely, including expense reports, sales call plans, and post-call follow-up.
- Participate in off-hours sales and community activities as requested by the Director of Business Development and facility needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field required; experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in lieu of a degree.
- Previous marketing and/or sales experience in a behavioral healthcare setting is required.
- Minimum of three years of documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and building physician relationships.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
