Applied Scientist II, US Prime and Marketing Tech
Job Description
Based in Seattle and onsite, this Applied Scientist II role within Amazon's US Prime and Marketing Tech organization centers on building ML powered services to automatically generate, target, and optimize cross-category marketing. The goal is to power intelligent campaigns that improve the shopping experience for Amazon customers worldwide and to lead end-to-end, data-driven ML solutions for product recommendations while collaborating closely with both engineering and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy essential services that automatically generate, target, and optimize cross-category marketing and merchandising across Amazon.
- Enable intelligent campaigns by leveraging machine learning models to enhance the shopping experience for customers globally.
- Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders, analyzing data to identify actionable opportunities and anticipate future needs.
- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of data-driven, scalable ML solutions for product recommendations.
- Establish standards for scientific excellence and guide decisions on how algorithms are built and integrated.
- Break down complex problems into practical, implementable solutions.
- Tackle intrinsically hard problems and develop the necessary expertise to address them.
Requirements
- PhD, or a Master’s degree with at least one year of experience in computer science, computer engineering, ML, or a related field.
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or other relevant languages.
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
