Job Description

Circle K is seeking a Field Marketing Specialist for an onsite role in Lisle, IL. This position coordinates national and local marketing efforts, signage and digital asset programs, local PR and social media campaigns, budget oversight, market research, internal and external communications, and media relations. The role offers a salary of $60,000 to $65,000 per year and places you at the center of store-level execution and brand growth, with opportunities to collaborate across national and local teams and to develop professionally through industry workshops and networks.

What you will do

Onsite role based in Lisle, IL to align initiatives with local needs.
Provide guidance and coordination for strategies set at both national and local levels.
Ensure the sales plan and signage are implemented at store level in line with local requirements.
Assist in standardizing signage types across locations.
Support planning and coordination of all printed and digital signage programs at national and local levels.
Manage and ensure proper operation of digital assets within stores and on forecourts.
Handle reactive local media relations.
Plan and execute local PR campaigns such as grand openings and post-renovation initiatives.
Launch localized social media campaigns.
Contribute to managing the business unit marketing and advertising budget.
Conduct, summarize, and present local market research findings.
Oversee internal communications content.
Supply content for local external digital channels (website, social media).
Manage the social investment program.
Participate in the communications network and weekly reporting.
Monitor media coverage.
Pursue ongoing professional development through workshops, publications, networks, and professional associations.
Contribute to team outcomes by achieving financial targets and key results per the company plan.

What we look for

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred; alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Two or more years of experience in marketing, merchandising, and communication or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven success with media relations and PR campaigns.
Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under deadlines with attention to detail.
Experience managing third-party relationships and/or direct reports.
Customer-focused with a clear orientation toward meeting needs.
Commercial mindset focused on driving business results.
Creative thinker with proficient design and organizational skills.
Travel up to 50% may be required.
Retail experience is preferred.

Technical skills

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

Physical requirements

Sit for extended periods and operate a computer keyboard and mouse for data entry.
View a computer monitor and communicate by telephone.
Reach forward and overhead as needed.
Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds; may lift and carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist for up to 30 minutes (e.g., replenishing supplies); may lift and carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes; may lift and carry up to 40 pounds from ground to waist for up to 30 minutes; push and pull up to 20 pounds.
Ability to climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials and signage.

Work environment

Moderate noise level typical of retail environments.
Lighting includes natural and fluorescent lighting; store temperatures are generally moderate.
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures when supervising store managers in walk-in coolers or freezers.
Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision.

Compensation

Hiring range: $60,000 to $65,000 per year.
