Responsibilities
- Oversee the College’s social media program, acting as the primary creator of posts and the lead strategist for reaching key audiences, with management of the content calendar.
- Coordinate with social media managers across the College and UW units to amplify content across channels.
- Leverage data, metrics, and industry knowledge to recommend content changes that boost social traffic and engagement.
- Review and approve digital newsletters produced by unit partners and distributed via the UW email platform.
- Support the production of College newsletters, event invitations, and other email communications.
- With the Director of Marketing, explore email marketing best practices including personalization, audience segmentation, and A/B testing; analyze email data to refine campaigns and improve performance.
- Field basic inquiries from the customer support inbox and route requests as needed.
- Proofread and approve College website edits; assist partner units in maintaining strong, consistent web content.
- Together with the Web Design Specialist, run unit web editor trainings, test new features, perform informal user testing, manage site access, and help resolve non-code bugs.
- Coordinate with units to update sites according to best practices and format web content for consistency.
- Publish relevant external stories to the College site and keep the homepage refreshed with featured stories and calendar items.
- Manage the Marketing and Communications team inbox, routing messages appropriately.
- Oversee the College events calendar and collaborate with units across UW to promote events.
- Respond to information requests and draft necessary correspondence.
- Assist with orders, purchases, and scheduling team events as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, with at least two years of relevant work experience; equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience applying Associated Press style.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms in a professional and engaging manner.
- Familiarity with Canva and basic HTML.
