Director, Influencer Marketing
Job Description
This temporary leadership role at Dentsu Creative, based in New York, directs end-to-end influencer campaigns, oversees client relationships, and identifies strategic growth opportunities for the agency and its clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead one or more influencer marketing client accounts as the primary point of contact, ensuring the dedicated team meets and exceeds client expectations.
- Provide strategic direction on best practices for managing end-to-end influencer campaigns.
- Forecast the potential impact of campaigns and KPIs, communicating how these metrics could influence client business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Dentsu paid media teams to effectively promote influencer content.
- Proactively identify and pitch opportunities to grow existing client relationships.
- Contribute to new business pitches by developing strategies, recommendations, and presenting them with leadership to potential clients.
- Assist the team in creating timelines and project plans to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversee internal processes by approving project budgets, SOWs, contracts, and invoices.
- Coordinate with Dentsu Legal on contracts, amendments, and disputes, providing subject-matter expertise as needed.
- Hold ultimate accountability for meeting financial goals across assigned accounts.
- Manage a team, communicating challenges and needs to drive progress and growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and offerings and contribute to their development.
- Partner with the Group Director and other leaders to set the strategic vision for the team and its accounts.
- Provide final input on performance analyses to inform future campaigns as part of the reporting process.
- Develop a broader understanding of Dentsu services and seek opportunities to expand offerings for each client.
- Maintain responsibility for client and intercompany billing at project completion.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of applicable experience, with agency background preferred.
- At least 4 years in an account lead role, sustaining positive client relationships, delivering strategic guidance, and resolving issues.
- 4+ years in the social or digital space, including influencer marketing.
- Experience managing end-to-end influencer campaigns.
- Strong strategic thinking abilities.
- New business experience.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of standard influencer contracting terms and conditions.
- Experience leading a team.
- A commitment to producing groundbreaking and high-quality work.
- Familiarity with influencer marketing platforms and key metrics for paid, earned, and owned media and analytics.
- Ability to distill large-scale information into actionable tasks.
- Prior experience with influencer management platforms.
- Knowledge of paid media best practices is a plus.
- Team- and people-focused attitude with a willingness to learn across the organization.
- Self-sufficient and reliable across multiple communication channels.
