Job Description

Fort Worth ISD invites a seasoned leader to direct the district's digital content and marketing strategy on site in Fort Worth, TX. This role oversees media production, online channels, and communications to ensure brand‑consistent messaging across platforms, while managing studio and remote video production, TV/cable scheduling, and video‑on‑demand services. It is a hands‑on, cross‑functional position that shapes how families, staff, and the broader community experience the Fort Worth ISD story.

This opportunity puts you at the center of district storytelling, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to amplify important messages, events, and achievements. You will help advance an online newsroom and support district leadership in transparent, timely communications that protect the district's reputation and foster trust.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a forward‑looking program that uses all forms of visual media and emerging digital content technology.
  • Organize and lead teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Research and analyze metrics to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on projects and initiatives.
  • Shoot, edit, light, and produce video projects; create, upload, convert, and post files to multiple platforms.
  • Operate TV control room equipment during live board meetings and events; oversee EDTV programming and scheduling.
  • Partner with Communications to implement an online newsroom featuring district content and promotional material.
  • Provide technical and professional support for Advanced Media Programs in the District studio.
  • Develop work plans and schedules for assigned staff; recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate personnel.
  • Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operation of the communications function.
  • Support the design, strategy, and continuous improvement of all public‑facing district websites for usability, forward‑thinking features, and responsiveness.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to inform strategy, boost engagement, and stay ahead of best practices.
  • Collaborate with departments and campuses to amplify messages through consistent, high‑quality social storytelling.
  • Work with district leadership to ensure accurate, respectful, and timely communication that supports transparency and trust.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and uphold safe operating conditions.
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Comply with Board rules, policies, and regulations; perform duties as assigned and in rare team‑driven situations.
  • Knowledge of ASCAP/BMI licensing procedures and music packages for multimedia presentations.
  • Knowledge of internet presentations and strategic use of podcasting; understand RSS and its messaging for district stakeholders.
  • Awareness of evolving platforms, algorithms, and content strategies to maximize engagement and visibility.
  • Ability to produce live presentations from a remote truck in breaking news scenarios or coordinate multi‑camera productions at major events.
  • Skills in shooting, editing, producing, supervising, and evaluating others who perform similar work.
  • Proficiency with software for spreadsheets, databases, and word processing; strong organizational abilities and communication skills.
  • Commitment to self‑evaluation and professional growth; ability to build cooperative working relationships.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Experience: 6 years of work‑related experience in project management, advertising, creative direction, website design, and organic and paid social media management.
  • Certification/License: None.
  • Technologies: RSS, podcasting.
  • Travel: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
  • Physical & Mental Demands: Uses standard office and multimedia equipment; occasional lifting up to 15 pounds; irregular or prolonged hours; regular attendance required; maintains composure under stress; handles frequent interruptions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Licensing procedures and music packages for multimedia presentations.
  • Utilizing internet presentations and strategic use of podcasting; marketing RSS concepts to stakeholders.
  • Understanding evolving platforms, algorithms, and content strategies to maximize engagement.
  • Ability to produce live presentations from remote locations and coordinate multi‑camera productions for major events.
  • Experience shooting, editing, producing, and supervising others performing similar work.
  • Proficiency with software for spreadsheets, databases, and word processing; strong organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication; self‑evaluation for professional growth; and collaborative relationship building.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Performs all job related duties as assigned and in accordance with Board rules, policies and regulations; compliant with lawful directives when teamwork is required.
