Job Description

Liberty University’s School of Divinity seeks an Academic Marketing Specialist to develop and convey information about academic services and degrees to internal and external audiences, with a focus on boosting the academic website presence, social media, and strategic messaging from its Lynchburg, VA campus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and promote events for the Center for Apologetics & Cultural Engagement and the School of Divinity as a whole.
  • Support the Dean and Associate Dean in staying current with theological and ministry training trends and identifying new opportunities.
  • Analyze enrollment patterns for the School of Divinity overall, with targeted insights for defined programs or areas within the school.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal and external partners to drive traffic, grow subscribers, and generate inquiries (leads).
  • Align digital marketing activities with established non-digital communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Create content for social media, event publications, the SOD website, and other channels; provide copyediting and proofreading support.
  • Contribute to strategic message planning through regular collaboration with the Dean, Associate Dean, and colleagues as needed.
  • Collaborate with the marketing project coordinator to ensure content aligns with project objectives.
  • Promote division-wide understanding and adherence to updated policies.
  • Support and coordinate proactive and earned media opportunities.
  • Assist in developing special projects and manage initiatives under the direction of the Associate Dean.
  • Oversee editing and development of web content for the SOD site, coordinating with the Web Content and Web Development teams to ensure accuracy, functionality, and current information across digital platforms.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of social media management experience.
  • Experience using graphic design software such as Canva and Adobe Illustrator.
