Job Description
The Manager, Marketing & Communications will guide Big Sur Land Trusts brand storytelling and audience engagement from Monterey, directing integrated marketing and communications to strengthen community ties and advance fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Craft and implement cohesive marketing and communications strategies across channels
- Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and tailored to the intended audiences
- Align marketing activities with the organization's strategic objectives and fundraising targets
- Oversee the brand voice, messaging architecture, and visual identity
- Support ongoing brand evolution and positioning initiatives
- Maintain coherence across all channels and touchpoints
- Plan and launch multi-channel campaigns, including milestone fundraising campaigns
- Grow engagement, expand the audience, and increase donor participation
- Track performance metrics and optimize campaigns accordingly
- Oversee development of engaging content for digital, print, and events
- Translate complex topics into accessible and motivating messaging
- Customize communications for diverse stakeholder groups, including donors, community members, and partners
- Collaborate across departments with development, programs, and leadership
- Oversee external vendors and creative partners
- Ensure timely production and delivery of high-quality communications
- Monitor key metrics such as engagement, conversions, and overall campaign effectiveness
- Leverage data to refine strategies and improve results
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in marketing, communications, brand strategy, or closely related fields
- Proven ability to manage communications initiatives and tell compelling stories
- Experience directing integrated marketing campaigns
- Capacity to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities
- Background in nonprofit or mission-driven environments
- Experience supporting fundraising efforts or donor communications
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics platforms
