Mass Audubon is seeking a Regional Marketing and Communications Associate based in Topsfield, MA, with a hybrid on-site and remote work arrangement. This full-time role oversees marketing and communications for several wildlife sanctuaries, including Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Joppa Flats Education Center, Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, and Endicott Wildlife Sanctuary, with travel to Lincoln, Lowell, and Wenham. The position involves developing stories, managing social media and email communications, and providing PR and program promotion support.
Responsibilities
- Identify sanctuary and regionally based stories that motivate visitation, program attendance, membership, and donations
- Manage site-based Facebook and Instagram accounts and create engaging content that also promotes the sanctuaries
- Produce regular enews and one-off emails as needed
- Provide local PR support in coordination with the Public Relations Director
- Contribute strategic input on public programs and editorial direction for program descriptions; promote programs through owned and external channels
- Monitor and maintain appropriate signage in partnership with the Visitor Experience Manager
- Keep sanctuary webpages current, creating news stories as needed to promote visitation and programs while highlighting Mass Audubon’s mission
- Maintain up-to-date image collections, adding new imagery and retiring outdated files
- Attend weekend and evening events to capture stories, video, and photos as required
- Coordinate with the Design Manager on design needs, including flyers, posters, graphics, postcards, and related items
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups, demonstrate cultural humility, and apply inclusive practices
- Strong project management skills, including facilitating collaborative content creation
- Experience managing social media accounts
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
- Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines
- Flexibility and willingness to assist where needed
- Experience taking marketing-quality photographs

Compensation, Schedule, and Hours
Compensation: Pay range USD 24.50 - 26.00 per hour, with the actual rate reflecting experience and qualifications.
Work schedule: Regular 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekend events.
Work Location
Based in Topsfield, Massachusetts with a hybrid remote/on-site arrangement and travel to various sanctuaries as needed.

- A Motor Vehicle Record check may be required depending on duties

Compensation, Benefits and Perks
This position’s pay range is USD 24.50-26.00 per hour; actual rate will reflect level of experience and qualifications.
