Inspiring A Better U is seeking a Community Outreach and Event Marketing Representative to support programs across Dallas and surrounding communities. This onsite role combines in-person community event representation with door-to-door outreach to inform residents and businesses about opportunities to participate, sponsor, donate, or partner.
Role overview
Working from Rowlett, TX, you will represent Inspiring A Better U at local outreach tables and community gatherings, then conduct respectful canvassing in assigned areas. The goal is to accurately share the organization’s mission and programs while connecting interested supporters to approved next steps and channels.
Responsibilities
- Conduct respectful door-to-door outreach in assigned areas.
- Represent Inspiring A Better U at community events, festivals, networking opportunities, and outreach tables.
- Explain the mission, programs, and partnership opportunities accurately and professionally.
- Generate leads for program enrollment, business sponsorships, and community partnerships.
- Direct interested supporters to approved donation and registration channels.
- Distribute approved marketing materials.
- Record contact information with permission and document outreach activity.
- Follow up with prospective participants and business partners.
- Provide regular updates on leads, conversations, and results.
- Follow event rules, posted no-solicitation notices, and organizational outreach procedures.
Requirements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfort initiating conversations with residents and business owners.
- Professional, respectful, and dependable approach.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on leads.
- Smartphone access for communication and activity tracking.
- Reliable transportation to assigned outreach locations and events.
- Availability for some evenings and weekends.
- Sales, canvassing, event marketing, customer service, or nonprofit outreach experience preferred.
Work setting and location
This position is onsite, with in-person outreach at community events and through door-to-door canvassing across Dallas and surrounding areas. Your base is Rowlett, TX.
Compensation
Pay is commission based, with rates and qualifying activities provided in writing before starting. Commission rates, eligible activities, payment timing, and any conditions will be outlined in a written compensation agreement prior to work beginning. Earnings depend on qualifying results, and no specific earnings are promised.
Donation inquiries must be handled through approved organizational channels. Representatives may not make unauthorized commitments or collect contributions through personal accounts.
