Onsite in Roseburg, Lone Rock Resources is seeking a seasoned Marketing Manager to steer its log marketing initiatives within the forest products sector. This role centers on building solid customer relationships, analyzing regional markets, guiding pricing and budgeting, and coordinating harvest planning, all while leading the log marketing team and representing the company within industry circles.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the company’s log sales program.
- Oversee the log quality program and collaborate with operations personnel to ensure logs meet customer specifications while maximizing value.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with manufacturing customers.
- Monitor regional log markets, mill demand, and market trends.
- Prepare log price forecasts, market analyses, and budget projections.
- Assist with annual logging plan updates and harvest scheduling discussions.
- Represent Lone Rock Resources on industry associations.
- Supervise a team consisting of log sellers, timber cruisers, and check scalers.
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in log sales, log procurement, or a related forest products marketing role.
- Strong knowledge of log markets and manufacturing facilities in southwestern Oregon.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Valid driver license and good driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout southwestern Oregon as needed.
