Job Description

The Advertising and Digital Marketing Consultant is an outside sales role focused on selling print and digital advertising across Blue Ridge Country magazine and related publications. This position manages an established book of business in the Blue Ridge Mountains region from a remote location with travel. The role is based in Boone, North Carolina with remote capabilities, and offers a salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 90,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Negotiate and close sales for print advertising, digital advertising, sponsored content, and integrated marketing opportunities across Blue Ridge Country magazine, Blue Ridge Parkway Guide, Lexington Visitor Guide, RetireNC, and related digital products.
Manage and grow an established book of business within the assigned territory.
Prospect and develop new advertising accounts throughout the region.
Conduct in-person and virtual sales calls and presentations with current and prospective clients.
Prepare customized advertising proposals and integrated marketing solutions aligned to client objectives.
Meet or exceed individual sales and revenue targets.
Educate advertisers on the value and reach of print publications and digital marketing solutions.
Consult with clients to craft marketing strategies that combine print advertising with digital solutions such as programmatic display, email marketing, SEO/SEM, websites, geofencing, social media, and other targeted campaigns.
Monitor and manage the production process between customers and the art department.
Oversee payment processes between accounts sold and accounting.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective advertisers.
Provide exceptional customer service through responsive communication and follow-through.
Collaborate with design, production, editorial, and digital teams to ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on schedule.
Resolve client questions and concerns promptly to ensure a positive customer experience.
Maintain accurate records of client activity, contracts, and communications in the CRM.

Requirements

Proven success in outside sales, advertising sales, media sales, digital marketing sales, or business development is preferred.
Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.
