Job Description
MyFitnessPal is looking for a Brand Marketing Lead in Austin, TX (onsite) to bring its brand platform to life across campaigns, creative, and media. In this role, you will own day-to-day brand campaign execution, partner closely with creative and media agencies, and use analytics to plan, measure, and optimize performance.
With a salary range of USD 110,000 - 175,000 per year and a requirement of 6+ years of brand marketing experience, this position focuses on turning brand positioning into channel strategies and measurable outcomes that strengthen brand health and drive results.
What you’ll do
- Own the annual brand marketing plan, translating brand positioning into channel strategies, campaign calendars, and measurable KPIs.
- Use consumer insights, brand health tracking, measurement studies, and competitive intelligence to refine positioning as the category evolves.
- Keep a close read on the category and competitive landscape to inform strategic recommendations.
- Identify and help execute culturally relevant brand moments that build affinity with target consumer segments.
- Contribute to strategy and creative for brand partnerships and sponsorships.
- Own and maintain brand guidelines and style guides, balancing consistency with flexibility as the brand platform develops, and ensure they are usable for internal teams and external partners.
- Leverage AI skills to implement reviews and controls across brand and product assets.
- Train and enable cross-functional teams (Growth, Creative, Partnerships, Comms) and external agencies on applying brand standards correctly and following the AI review process.
- Lead end-to-end execution of core brand campaigns from creative brief through production, launch, and optimization across paid media, streaming/audio, social, out-of-home, and sponsorships.
- Serve as the primary liaison to creative and media agencies, managing briefs, timelines, budgets, and deliverables while holding agencies accountable for quality and impact.
- Oversee development and adaptation of creative assets across paid, owned, and earned touchpoints to ensure brand identity consistency.
- Lead brief development by translating brand and business objectives into clear, inspiring creative and media briefs.
- Manage agency scopes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables, tracking spend against contracted scope and flagging overages or scope creep early.
- Run a consistent cadence of check-ins, status reviews, and creative reviews to keep work moving and maintain quality.
- Provide actionable creative feedback aligned to strategy and brand standards, pushing back on off-strategy work while letting strong ideas develop.
- Develop and evaluate agency performance against KPIs (quality, speed, cost-efficiency, business impact) and support annual or project-based reviews.
- Manage agency onboarding for new partners, including access, brand training, and historical context to reduce ramp time.
- Partner with Legal/Procurement on contract terms, SOWs, and renewals as needed.
- When multiple agencies are involved, ensure coordination so work stays consistent and does not fragment.
- Manage brand campaign budgets and track spend against the plan.
- Partner with analytics/growth to measure brand campaign performance (brand lift, incrementality, media measurement) and report results to senior leadership.
- Use performance data to recommend improvements to creative and branded spend channel mix.
- Translate research, industry observations, and category trends into insights the team can activate.
What you bring
- 6+ years in brand marketing at a consumer app; experience with a premium or subscription product or health/wellness brand is a plus.
- A proven track record owning brand campaigns end-to-end, from strategy through creative production to measurement.
- Direct experience managing creative and/or media agencies of record, including briefs, budgets, timelines, and performance against a high bar.
- Comfort translating consumer insights and performance data (brand health trackers, lift studies, media measurement) into strategic and creative decisions.
- Strong project management instincts, with the ability to run multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build clear briefs and present confidently to senior leadership.
