Job Description

SpaceXSI is looking for a Data Engineer, Marketing to build and own marketing measurement and analysis for performance marketing across channels and audiences. You will partner closely with Marketing leadership to strengthen incrementality, media-mix modeling, LTV signal quality, and clean attribution and pipeline sourcing.

This is an onsite role in San Francisco, CA, with a requirement of 7+ years of relevant experience. The Data team is small and cross-company, and this hire will be the first member focused fully on marketing measurement.

What you’ll do

Build and own the measurement layer for performance marketing, including economics and performance by channel, campaign, audience, geo, and creative across both PLG and Sales-Led revenue lines
Design incrementality tests (geo, audience, and conversion lift) with channel owners, then use results to move budget and calibrate attribution rather than treating tests as reporting-only
Stand up and maintain the media-mix model, pairing it with test results to answer allocation questions such as what to scale, what to cut, and where saturation is occurring
Own the quality of the predictive LTV signal delivered to Meta, Google, and other networks by validating against realized revenue, catching drift and breakage early, and working with Data and Engineering to improve it
Keep pipeline source and campaign attribution separate and clean so that self-reported source, promo codes, click-based attribution, and CRM pipeline each answer their own question without double counting revenue

Required experience

7+ years of experience in marketing analytics, marketing science, or data science supporting paid acquisition
Strong SQL and Python skills, with comfort building both data pipelines and predictive models
Experience running hold-out or incrementality tests and working with MMM and attribution models in production, including understanding their limitations
Understanding of how ad platforms report, optimize, and ingest conversion signals, and ability to avoid treating platform-reported numbers as definitive
Clear communication with channel managers, Finance, and leadership, including honesty about what the data supports
Self-directed ownership of ambiguous, end-to-end problems

Tools

SQL
Python

Role context

The Data team at SpaceXSI works across the company to inform business and product decisions
Performance Marketing at SpaceXSI drives scaled acquisition across 10+ channels for Grok, Grok Bot, and the broader AI product portfolio
This role sits within the central Data team and partners directly with Marketing leadership on measurement for performance marketing, growth marketing programs, and overall marketing measurement
You will help guide where the next dollar goes as paid acquisition scales, while building foundations for a world class marketing data team
